PARENTS OF KOLKATA NEEDS TO BE MORE CONCENTRATIVE ON THEIR CHILDREN'S FUTURE

KOLKAT, the city of joy, where most popular man Rabindranath Tagore was borne and served the city with his priceless writing. This only indicate that people of this city are very much serious and they are very much well educated.
But now-a-days it is shown that the city is showing nothing what it is thought. People mainly the parents are advising better to say forcing their children's to do what they want rather appreciating children's willingness and what they want to do. First of all parents are forcing their children to study foreign languages like English, Spanish, German etc. and provoking them to study their mother-tongue Bengali. At present time when I walk down the streets I come across with a hundred of school kids ageing up to 7 years old. The fact is that 40% of them can neither read nor write Bengali. And the ridiculous matter is that nether the kids nor their parents have lived outside of Kolkata in their entire life. It hurts me more when I see one of those kids can not write his/her own name in his/her mother-tongue, i.e., Bengali. But ask them a English poem they tell you without any interruption. There are much people who addresses themselves as a Bangalee but don't know Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, Manikdas Bandhopadhay. Ask them of William Wordsworth, they will tell you in clear details that might let you feel they belongs to Wordsworth family.
I want to ask those parents why they are doing this. Does they know Bengali is 5th language spoken by most people in the world. They languages they are forcing on their kids to learn are almost used in every where in the globe as Second language. And if they are so complaint about Bengali I request them Please leave our city go the else where your desire languages are used as only medium of communication, please don't pollute our land and don't insult our mother-tongue.
I would to like to draw government attention towards the schools which is offering courses without Bengali in Kolkata. Government must make it compulsory every school in Kolkata should offer compulsory course on mother-tongue Bengali. This implementation should be made effective in every city sorry everywhere in India.
